The STC Closed Club Championships for 2010 were held over the weekend of 18th/19th September. Finals details were as follows:

Mens Singles: John Saunders bt Angus Ball 6-2, 4-6, 6-4

Ladies Singles: Claire Stafford bt Ashley Law 7-6(4), 6-1

WINTER CHANGES

From the week beginning 20th September, the Club sessions change slightly for the autumn/winter months:

Mondays drills with Tim will be from 6pm to 7pm.
Tuesdays coached-led session will be from 6pm to 7.30pm.
Wednesday team training will switch from the grass courts to the hard courts with ladies from 6pm to 7pm and mens from 7pm to 8.30pm.
Thursdays evening session for adults will continue under lights from 6pm to 8pm but numbers are restricted to the first 12 as we only have 3 courts with floodlights. If there is sufficient demand, we will hold an extra mix-in session on Fridays from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

All members and friends welcome.
Tickets £8 (includes buffet food)

SUMMER CAMP 2010

STC Head Coach, Tim Peters, will be running Summer Tennis Camps for juniors aged 6 to 16 throughout the summer at the Castle Courts.
Camps will run on the following dates:

July 19-22
July 26-29
August 2-5
August 9-12
August 16-19
August 23-27

Please book your place(s) in advance by ringing Tim on 07816 781 988 or seeing him at the clubhouse. The camps will run from 10.00am to 12.00 noon on the above dates and the cost is £30 per week or £8 per session (cheques made payable to Tim Peters).

Coaching will include technique, drills, matchplay, fitness and fun with certificates for all attendees.

Why not sign-up today!! Non-members of the Club are welcome to attend.

CEILIDH SOCIAL

The last Southsea Tennis Club before the Christmas party is one not to be missed. A Ceilidh on Saturday 31st October at the Southsea Pavilion with the popular band Red Hot Reeds and a dance caller. The evening starts at 7.30pm, band from 8.00pm. Bring drink. Nibbles provided. £8 per person. Tickets from Nicky Skinner (ring 02392 811101) or from the Club. All monies into club funds to help court development.

Ceildh
